Two Steps up and One Step Back

I'm not sure about anyone else, but it seems that every time I am on the brink of something new and wonderful an earthquake happens. My car falls into a ravine extracting almost $500.00 in repairs (actually it just obtained a nasty oil leak but it might as well skidded into a ravine right before Christmas), relocation back to Gaston County is like trying to find the cracks in a brick wall so you can climb over it, my Ayurveda teacher and inspiration for this transformation announced she was relocating to California (that might not sound like such a biggie considering there's social media and the like, but when I get comfortable with someone I like to enjoy the intimacy of personal presence), and my blogger-buddy backed out on me the day of the class (okay, I admit having 14 loads of laundry to do would be overwhelming; but STILL!).

The class was wonderfully informative and I had two other friends who showed up and flanked my sides.  I learned that my main dosha is Kapha. The doshas are biological energies found throughout the human body and mind. They govern all physical and mental processes and provide every living being with an individual blueprint for health and fulfillment. Derived from the Five Elements and their related properties, Kapha is from the consistency and connection between Earth and Water, translated “that which sticks." This came as no surprise to me as I am a fixed water sign who despite not liking movement or change craves it. So, the universe has forced me more than once in the direction I need to go by pruning my branches. Ouch.

So. Much. Education. What to eat. How to eat it. When to eat it. When to sleep. When to rise. How to move. When to move. I'll be happy to step into the light if and when I can remember where the switch is. Oh, and, how to turn it on. April is fast approaching so I'm on the move for extra bulbs. I like the twinkly white ones because they remind me of stars, something us watery earthen people love to gaze upon when dreaming of change while chaining ourselves to the nearest tree.  Thank goodness for Universal earthquakes.
